    The music of Joseph Trapanese is heard in feature films, network and cable television as well as in productions at NYU, UCLA, on NPR, and several off-Broadway productions in New York City.  It has been performed by three GRAMMY-winning artists and awarded by ASCAP, the American Music Center, Yale University, UCLA, the Henry Mancini Institute and Downbeat Magazine


    Winner of the first annual Jerry Goldsmith Award in 2007, Joseph’s recent film work includes numerous shorts and additional music for the independent features Necessary Evil and The Last Word, as well as orchestrations for Fox’s What Happens in Vegas, the Lifetime feature The Memory Keeper’s Daughter (2008 Primetime Emmy® Award Nominee, Outstanding Made For Television Movie), Nickelodeon’s first live action feature Gym Teacher, and Don Cheadle’s soon to be released thriller Traitor. As an arranger and music programmer he has worked on the Fox sitcom The Loop, the ABC reality series American Inventor, and Disney’s original movie sensation Jump In.  He has also served as a synthesizer programmer and sample designer on the features Traitor and Rendition.  His credits as a music production assistant includes Fred Claus for Warner Brothers and and Cashmere Mafia for ABC.


    Joseph completed his B.M. in Music Composition at the Manhattan School of Music and his M.A. at UCLA as the first graduate of the Composition for Visual Media program, where his studies not only included film scoring, but also film production classes at the UCLA Department of Theatre, Film and Television.  Teachers include Giampaolo Bracali, Paul Chihara, Roger Bourland, and Martin Bresnick.
